Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party and the CPI (MP) alleging that they are against West Bengal amid the ongoing uproar over the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata. Trying to “create chaos”. Ghosh claimed that all opposition parties “are one” and are trying to destroy the TMC.
“BJP, CPM and Congress are all one. BJP is doing Nibana movement, Congress is supporting it and whatever CPM says, but they are talking about protest… Ram-Left are all coming together to create chaos against TMC and West Bengal, Ghosh told ANI.
The rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital sparked outrage across the country, with opposition parties attacking the West Bengal government over the protection of women and accusing the accused of Trying to save. Since then, several protests have erupted in the state, demanding justice for the victim.
Union minister and state BJP president Skanta Majumdar on Sunday claimed that the people of West Bengal will oust Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from power and drown her in the Ganga river to deal with the Kolkata rape and murder case.
Majumdar told ANI, “The government is afraid of this student movement, and they want to suppress the voice of the people. But the student society of West Bengal has woken up… to remove Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from power. By throwing away, the People's State will drown it in the river Ganga.”
The Kolkata High Court earlier this month reprimanded the state police for handling the case, transferring the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI officials conducted a polygraph test on the accused Sanjay Roy, who was arrested in connection with the rape and murder case of a female doctor.
Earlier, the Supreme Court, while hearing a suo motu case related to the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, ordered the security of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). .
