Lisa Barlow and her brands Vida Tequila and Lux Marketing are facing a new lawsuit from former friend and business partner Bart Carlson.
According to TMZ, Carlson filed a lawsuit against the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star on Wednesday, claiming she loaned Barlow, Vida and Lux a total of $410,842.36 between May 2010 and February 2018.
He also said that when Barlow first came to him for financial assistance, he had willingly lent her the money, but because of the close relationship between them they were never able to agree on a schedule for repayment.
He said that he has been asking for his money back for the past several years, but the Bravolebrity reportedly told him that neither he nor any of his companies are capable of paying him back.
The 49-year-old reality TV personality responded to the lawsuit on Wednesday, saying she was “deeply saddened” by her legal situation.
In a statement provided to Page Six, he said, “Bart Carlson was once a business partner in a Park City restaurant and I thought of him as a friend. I am deeply saddened that nine years after our restaurant went out of business he has decided to claim I owe him money.”
“To be clear, the claim that I owe Bart or his company money is a lie. I pay my bills and obligations and I always have. I look forward to the truth coming out and I intend to hold Bart fully accountable for any harm this personal attack causes me or my business,” she added.
The upcoming new season of “RHOSLC” is set to be dramatic for the mother of two.
Two months before this lawsuit was revealed, it was reported that Barlow’s fellow “RHOSLC” cast member Mary Cosby allegedly called Barlow’s 12-year-old son Henry the R-word during a “crazy fight” between the women.
Sources close to the production told Page Six that other cast members — including returning stars Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks and Angie Katsanevas — were upset by Cosby’s role in the exchange.
“The whole cast … was pretty nervous,” the insider said of the cast's reaction to Cosby's outburst.
While a second source said Barlow was initially upset with Cosby for using a slur against her youngest son, another source told the outlet that they had “rectified the situation” at the time of the report and were filming together for a cast trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
