Ghaziabad: The city is going to get a makeover worth Rs 200 crore. Roads will be repaired, parks will be developed and healthy public infrastructure will be established for residents in the ten industrial clusters of Ghaziabad. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSID) has started planning on the modernization programme, which will be carried out under the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana.
Yadav mentioned that the authority has identified areas for redevelopment within these industrial clusters. “The work will mainly involve repairs of drains and roads, especially Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area, GT Road Industrial Area, Sahibabad Site 4 Industrial Area, and Loha Mandi,” he said. The official said he would issue tenders worth Rs 200 crore, along with installation of CCTV cameras and high-mast lights in selected areas.
Earlier, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) approved the GIS-based draft Unified Master Plan-2031 for Ghaziabad, Modi Nagar/Murad Nagar, and Loni. The officials discussed the matter in Meerut on Friday. The plan will be sent to the state government for final approval.
The Unified Master Plan 2031 lays down the development framework covering about 32,302 hectares. Land use is allocated as follows: 39.85 percent for residential areas, 4 percent for commercial and mixed-use sites, 10.68 percent for industrial activities, 19.67 percent for recreation and leisure facilities, and basic transportation. 12.79 percent for structures.
