ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The Round Rock Police Department will provide an update on its investigation into a shooting at Old Settlers Park over the weekend. It's likely connected to the department's search for a suspect.
The R.R.P.D. previously said it would update the media at 11 p.m. Wednesday. At around 11:10 p.m., police said the update had been delayed until Thursday.
“Pending new information the press conference has been postponed until tomorrow. We appreciate your patience and understanding. A new time will be announced in the morning,” the police department posted on social media.
The shooting happened after a fight broke out between two groups during a Juneteenth celebration at Old Settlers around 10:50 p.m. Saturday. Two people were killed and 14 were injured in the shooting. RRPD said all of the victims were innocent bystanders.
Police have identified Lindsay Wikner, 33, of Manor, and Ara Duke, 54, of Pluggerville, as the victims.
This is a developing story and will be updated. KXAN will also broadcast that news conference live with RRPD in this story.
