Sam Altman denies reports of OpenAI launching Google Search competitor, says more is on the way

When people think about artificial intelligence (AI), many point to OpenAI's ChatGPT as a starting point for their interest. This chatbot burst onto the internet landscape in 2022 and mesmerized users with its human-like responses and impressive capabilities. ChatGPT quickly gained global fame, with people testing its capabilities in a variety of ways. Some asked for poetry, others for life advice, and some wanted fictional stories to be spun from it – the requests were endless. As time went on, many companies introduced their own AI chatbots, leading to competition for OpenAI, with rivals like Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Cloud, and X's GrokAI vying for attention.

It was recently reported that ChatGPT creator OpenAI was planning to expand the chatbot's capabilities and enter a new market by launching a competitor to Google Search. Reports also claimed that this new search product could be unveiled on May 13, a day before Google I/O. However, Altman has denied such rumors. On the other hand, they have also confirmed that something is indeed cooking and that OpenAI will soon make an announcement regarding a ChatGPT update.

In a post on Monday at 10am PT.” This means that for India, in just a few hours from now, OpenAI is going to make announcements regarding ChatGPT and GPT-4.

Meanwhile, Sam Altman was in the news recently for saying that he is dedicated to building AGI, no matter what it costs. Speaking to students at Stanford University, Altman said any cost to develop AGI is justified. According to a report by The Fortune, he said, “There's probably someone more business-minded than me at OpenAI who is concerned about how much we're spending, but I don't.”

“Whether we burn 500 million dollars a year or 5 billion dollars or 50 billion dollars a year, I don't care, I don't really care as long as we can, I think we're going to be in a Stay on the path where ultimately we can create much more value for society than this and as long as we can figure out a way to pay the bills as we are building AGI, while it will be expensive, it will be totally worth it. Is,” he said.
