WhatsApp is constantly working on bringing new features to improve the communication experience of users. According to reports, WhatsApp is now going to bring a new feature, with the help of which we will be able to send photos in HD quality by default. With the arrival of this feature, we will not have to manually select HD every time we share a photo. Before the HD feature, WhatsApp users had to send photos in document format to save them from compression.
Android Police has identified this new default setting in the beta version 2.24.13.10 of WhatsApp. This latest feature in WhatsApp gets rid of the unnecessary steps that we had to follow to share images in HD quality. According to Android Police, Meta launched the HD photo-sharing feature last August and since then the company has been working on making this feature possible.
The media files you send using this feature will have the HD label in the bottom left corner. Now Meta allows users to share videos in HD quality.
The HD feature doesn't mean that the file will be shared losslessly, but it's still a huge improvement over before. Compression of files turns our precious memories into pixelated disasters. With this new feature, they will be shared in much better quality.
When will this feature be available, do you already have this feature available?
Android Police has identified this new default setting in WhatsApp beta version 2.24.13.10, indicating that the feature could soon move out of the testing phase and be rolled out globally.
To see if you have access to this feature, go to the app's Settings, then select Storage & Data, and then click Media Upload Quality.
This update offers a mix of benefits and drawbacks for WhatsApp users. While many will appreciate the high-definition quality of the uploads, WhatsApp warns that these files will consume more bandwidth and storage space than the standard options. Still, for those who prefer high-quality photos and videos, the extra data usage is a minor inconvenience.
