Terming Gandhi's remarks as the “biggest betrayal of the people”, the Shiv Sena MLA said, “Communities like Marathas, Dhangars and OBCs are fighting for reservation, but before that Gandhi realized its benefits.” Talking about ending it.

Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Atul Londe said, “Sanjay Gaikwad is not fit to be in society and politics. We want to see if Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis calls for culpable homicide charges against Gaikwad.”
While Congress MLC Bhai Jagtap also condemned these statements and said, “These people have spoiled the politics of the state.”
