Sony has announced the WF-C510 wireless earbuds priced at $59.99, the latest budget offering in its “truly wireless” line. They’re fairly basic, but improve upon their predecessor with voice isolation and slightly longer battery life, while costing $30 less. The earbuds come in four colors – black, blue, white, and yellow – and are now available for preorder on Sony’s website or Amazon.
The WF-C510 earbuds, a name that rolls off the tongue, also feature Ambient Sound mode (Sony's Transparency mode, which pipes out external sounds) in addition to voice isolation. They're also the “smallest closed-type earbuds ever,” according to Sony. According to Sony's specs list, when Ambient Sound is turned off, they'll get up to five hours of “continuous communication time” or 11 hours of normal use. The charging case can add another 11 hours.
Sony says the earbuds can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously and will support Google's Fast Pair and Microsoft's Swift Pair features to quickly connect devices. They're also IPX4-rated, which means they can withstand a splash of water or a sweaty run (but you shouldn't drop them in the pool).
The WF-C510 is expected to be supplied to customers from September 9.
