CLEVELAND (WJW) — As crews were hard at work filming the new “Superman” movie in downtown Cleveland on Tuesday, a FOX 8 camera crew got a first look at the Man of Steel on set.
Superman, wearing his iconic red, blue, and yellow suit, a cape, and an “S” emblem on the chest, is seen walking down the steps of Cleveland City Hall.
Lakeside Avenue was closed for filming Tuesday. It was the latest of many street closures since film crews transformed downtown streets into the fictional city of Metropolis.
The area around Lakeside Avenue will reopen Wednesday, but streets around Public Square will remain closed.
They will remain closed until Saturday, July 6. See a full list of them here.
According to IMDb, the film, starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent (aka Superman) and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, will be released in July 2025. The film is directed by “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Suicide Squad” director James Gunn.
