Gurgaon: A 13-year-old student jumped from his second floor. School building in Palwal in early September allegedly out of fear of his teachers. An FIR was registered against the school’s principal, class teacher and physical education instructor based on her father’s complaint on Saturday.
The boy’s family alleged that the eighth-grade student tried to commit suicide fearing teachers would beat him up for not coming to school. After the fall, he sustained severe injuries on both hands, one leg and head.
The student was intense. injured and was treated at a local hospital in Mandkola village.
According to the father of the complainant boy in the case, the child was absent from school from September 14 to 17. The father alleged that his son had collapsed in the school premises at that time and was diagnosed with typhoid. Sick leave taken.
When the boy returned to school on September 18, the father said his class in-charge questioned him over his absence. She reportedly refused to believe he was ill and instead accused him of lying. Then, she brought the boy to the physical education instructor, who allegedly beat the boy.
The boy’s nine-year-old sister, who attends the same school and saw the boy beaten, told her father that her brother went to the second floor of the school and jumped in an attempt to commit suicide, fearing the teachers.
The boy’s father approached the local police station to lodge a written complaint against the class teacher who intimidated him, the physical education instructor who beat him and the principal who did not take matters into his own hands.
“The police tried to solve the case. Despite this, the boy’s father did not hesitate and requested an FIR, which was lodged against the three school employees at Hattin police station on Saturday,” said police spokesperson Sanjay Kadian.
He added that the boy is currently at home with injuries on both hands and one leg and injuries to his head and jaw.
