Ending the long wait for an ICC title, Rohit's Team India defeated South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday.
The Indian team left for Delhi yesterday on a charter flight from the Grantley Adams International Airport. The Indian team members were stranded in Barbados for three days due to the category-four storm. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged a charter flight for the Indian team, support staff, players' families, board officials and members of the travelling media contingent after the Indian team's departure was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla revealed that Indian journalists stranded in Barbados boarded the same flight as BCCI president Roger Binny and secretary Jay Shah.
After the grand welcome, Rohit's Team India will next meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence at 11 am. After attending the breakfast session, Rohit's Team India will leave for Mumbai. In the evening, there will be a road show in an open bus from Nariman Point. After the Vijay Bus Parade, there will be a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.

Team India arrival live updates: Memories of that final
Team India arrival live updates: To say it was an emotional win for India in Barbados on June 29 would be an understatement. Apart from the fact that most of these players were part of teams that have faced disappointment in several major ICC tournaments in recent times, it was a game that India looked to be losing in the final five overs, with Heinrich Klaasen conceding 24 runs off Axar Patel in the 15th over and South Africa needing just 30 runs to win off the final 30 balls. And then, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya led India to put in exceptional control over South Africa's flow of runs. The Proteas needed 16 runs to win off the final over. Pandya started with a wide full toss, David Miller went for the big shot but Suryakumar Yadav pounced and caught the ball, lofted the ball in the air and when his momentum went past the boundary pad, he came back and completed what has now become an iconic catch. Pandya gave away just eight more runs in that over. Tears and uproar ensued.

Team India arrival live updates: Tight security for bus parade in Mumbai
Team India Arrival Live Updates: Team India Arrival Live Updates: It comes as no surprise that there will be tight security along the entire distance between the NCPA and the Wankhede Stadium, which is just over 2 km. This doesn't mean fans won't be able to catch a glimpse of their favourite players, but expect Marine Drive to be closed for that period. Mumbaikars, if you are travelling for it, it's best to use public transport or cabs or find a parking space. Unless you are one of the few people in the world who own an apartment in that area. If that's the case, good for you.
