(KRON) — Tesla’s Cybertruck is now set to be recalled for a fourth time, the National Highway and Safety Administration announced. The company’s futuristic truck model reportedly has faulty trim pieces and windshield wipers.
NHTSA announced the new recalls in documents released Tuesday. They affect more than 11,000 trucks with models made between November 2023 and this May.
The company said in the documents that the front windshield wiper motor controller could stop working because it is drawing too much electrical current, increasing the risk of a crash if the wipers stop working. Tesla says it is not aware of any crashes or injuries caused by this problem.
NHTSA said Tesla service will replace the wiper motor “free of charge.” Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on August 18 this year.
Tesla has recalled the stainless steel Cybertruck four times since it went on sale on Nov. 30. The last recall was in April regarding a faulty accelerator.
