The AIADMK cadre is happy after the party severed ties with the BJP-led alliance.

After the AIADMK severed its ties with the BJP-led NDA, party cadre and middle-level leaders are happy with the party’s decision to leave the alliance.

K Selvaraj, an ardent AIADMK supporter from Tiruchi in Tamil Nadu, told IANS that the time had come for the party to end its ties with the BJP.

“AIADMK is a Dravidian political party and breaking ties with a political organization that has nothing in common with us. Now we will get a lot of support from all sections in Tamil Nadu,” he said.

He said that the AIADMK is a cadre-based political party and has a presence across Tamil Nadu with proven electoral credentials while the BJP is a non-entity in the state.

On Monday, September 25, soon after AIADMK deputy coordinator KP Munusamy announced the severing of ties in front of the party state committee office, workers celebrated and even lit bonfires to express their joy.

AIADMK can now also get support from the Muslim community, Dalits and OBCs.
