By now, you may have seen a few stories about the team behind Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. While the original 3DS release in 2013 was created by talented Canadian-based studio Next Level Games, for the high-definition Switch version of the game, it looks like Nintendo has once again called upon the services of Australian developer Tantalus Media.
Australian Nintendo fansite Vooks.net highlighted this in their review of the game, and several outlets such as IGN and VGC also confirmed the studio's major involvement in the project a day before the game's official launch.
As you may remember, Tantalus is the same team behind The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which released on Switch in 2021. It also worked on Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U. This latest reveal by the studio ahead of the official launch comes after recent comments from a Nintendo representative, who reiterated that the company won't reveal its partner developers until the games are released and players see the credits roll.
That being said, it seems we already know the team partnering with Nintendo on Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and Mario & Luigi fans may be getting to know the studio behind new release Mario & Luigi: Brothership – Nintendo has also revealed that some of the “original developers” are involved in the project.
