In his joint address to the Parliament, President Murmu assured the nation that important economic and social decisions and historic measures will be announced during the Union Budget in the upcoming sessions of the Parliament.

“In the upcoming sessions, this government is going to present the first budget of this term. Nirmala Sitharaman will become the first FM to present budget 7 times.

As Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a total of six budgets, including the interim budget on 1 February. She is the second finance minister to achieve this milestone after equaling the record of former Prime Minister Maraji Desai. Seetha Raman, India's first full-time woman finance minister, has presented five full budgets since July 2019.

His tenure has surpassed the record of previous finance ministers such as Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley, P Chidambaram, and Yashwant Sinha, who each presented five budgets in a row.

During his tenure, Seetha Raman made major changes in the budgeting process. In 2019, he replaced the traditional budget briefcase with a 'Bahi Khata' emblazoned with the national emblem to carry speeches and documents. Lately, she has been using a tablet wrapped in a ledger to present the budget.
