In his X post, Asthana proposed the shopping list idea for instant grocery delivery platforms including Zomato. blinkSwiggy and Zepto. He wrote: “Indian shop through shopping lists. They go to a shop and give the list to the shopkeeper, he finds everything, it's very difficult to find it, pick the quantity and add the cart items one by one on our platform. Pls give a function to upload the list and it creates a cart for me.
The post has gone viral with 7.3 lakh views and Swiggy was the first e-commerce platform to respond to the post. Phani Kishan A, Co-Founder of Swiggy responded to this post saying: “Well we heard you @GabbbarSingh ☺️ The feature is in pilot phase and we will gradually roll it out to all users. How does this feature work?
Phani Kishan A also shared a demo video showing how the Swiggy Instasmart feature works and the post has also received more than 7.4 lakh views. The video shows that once the feature goes live, Swiggy Instamart users will only need to upload their shopping list to the app and it will read the list and add the said items to the cart. This will save users from searching and adding each item in the list.
Another Blanket developer named Purvi Gupta also responded to the post and wrote: “Put it on our internal channel 🤞”
