
In the list of top 10 mid-size SUVs in September 2023, Hyundai Creta finished ahead of Mahindra Scorpio and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
In the month of September 2023, Hyundai’s Creta continued its dominance at the top of the midsize SUV sales chart as it posted 12,717 units as against 12,866 units during the same period last year, registering a negative sales growth of 1 percent year-on-year. Hui. The heavily updated Creta will be introduced in India as early as 2024 and could help consolidate its dominance.
The 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift will feature several updates inside and out and will be powered by a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS and 253 Nm. Mahindra Scorpio remained at the second position as combined sales of Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic totaled 11,846 units in September 2022 compared to 9,536 units.
This resulted in a positive volume increase of 24 percent year-on-year. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara stood third with domestic sales of 11,736 units as compared to 4,769 units in the same period twelve months ago with a year-on-year growth of 146 percent. Since its debut, the Grand Vitara has been posting consistent volumes.

In the second half of the table, Honda Elevate posted a total of 5,685 units, while Toyota Urban Cruiser Hayrider recorded a total of 3,804 units and stood at the seventh position. It has a lot in common with the Grand Vitara and both the SUVs are manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka.
Skoda Kushaq stood at eighth position with 2,260 units as against 2,224 units, an annual growth of 2 percent. Volkswagen Taigun recorded sales of 1,586 units as against 1,994 units, a decline of 20 percent year-on-year. MG Astor joined the top ten with 901 units and new entrant Citroen C3 Aircross posted 400 units.
