Liverpool are yet to complete their first signing of the transfer window, which closes on Friday – but two upcoming deals could be completed soon after Giorgi Mamardashvili underwent a medical and there were reports of interest in Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
Meanwhile the future of Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is still unclear; he has been linked with Manchester United recently, but although reports suggest he is open to a move to Old Trafford, talks must first take place over his £300,000-a-week wages and what happens if he moves elsewhere on a lower salary. Meanwhile, Chelsea want Jadon Sancho in a swap deal – and Victor Osimhen's agent has given the Blues a boost by saying he will not be moving to Saudi Arabia.
Elsewhere, there are news and rumours surrounding Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse and Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard as more deals try to be done before the deadline.

Chelsea moving on to Tony?
There is a new twist to the matter with news that Ivan Toney has agreed terms to move to Saudi Arabia. Sky Sports News report that Chelsea have made a move to sign the forward.
Chelsea want a new No.9 player and the 28-year-old could be seen as a perfect fit within their wage structure.
The transfer fee would have to meet Brentford's demand and then Toney would have to decide where he wants to go. The England international has reportedly received an incredible offer from Saudi, but a move to Chelsea would ensure he still has Premier League football.

Kepa is undergoing medical tests at Bournemouth
The Guardian Kepa Arrizabalaga is undergoing a medical examination at Bournemouth ahead of a season-long loan move from Chelsea, according to reports.
In 2018, Kepa became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when Chelsea paid Athletic Bilbao £71.6 million for him and signed a seven-year contract with him.
The deal is believed to be a straight loan, with Arrizabalaga extending his contract at Stamford Bridge to allow Chelsea to retain his value.

Manchester United agree deal for Ugarte
Manchester United are close to landing their key midfield target this summer after they agreed a £50.7million deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Manuel Ugarte.
The FA Cup winners will pay an initial 50 million euros for the 23-year-old, with a further 10 million euros in depositions, and he will also be required to undergo a medical examination.
Ugarte's arrival will take their summer spending tally to around £200million after the purchases of centre-backs Lenny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, full-back Noussair Mazrawi and forward Joshua Zirkzee.

Chelsea have signed Penders ahead of their next summer arrival
This is exactly what Chelsea needed – another goalkeeper! Mike Penders has agreed a contract with Genk until 2032 – although he won't officially join the team until next summer.

Sterling ready for talks with Chelsea amid Manchester United rumours – and Sancho swap possible
Raheem Sterling wants to speak to Chelsea's top brass over his contract situation before beginning transfer discussions with another club, the Telegraph reports.
His £300,000-a-week deal guarantees him £40million for the remaining three years of his Chelsea deal, and he wants clarification on how the Blues will make up the difference if he moves elsewhere on a lower wage.
Manchester United are said to be interested and he would consider a move to Old Trafford but negotiations would need to be quick with the transfer window closing this week.
Chelsea are keen on a swap deal between Sterling and Manchester United's underperforming winger Jadon Sancho but there is currently no concrete offer from United for Sterling, who is number one in the squad.

West Ham defender rules out plans to move to Bundesliga
Nayef Aguerde has turned down the chance to go on loan to an “unnamed club” in the German Bundesliga.
The Moroccan is keen to play under Julen Lopetegui following the arrivals of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo but his wages are too high after signing for £28million two years ago, making it difficult to force his way into the squad. The Guardian report that an offer from Saudi Arabia remains an option.
Kurt Zouma is also set to move to the Saudi Pro League while Max Cornet is up for sale but is likely to find very few takers given the hefty salary being offered to him by the Hammers.

Ipswich still in talks over Broja deal
Armando Broja was due to join Ipswich this week but his medical examination revealed a potential problem.
However, Kieran McKenna has confirmed they are still in talks with Chelsea over a potential loan-buyout deal, with the price set at £30million.
That will only come into play if Ipswich finish top this season and clearly they see him as a vital component in achieving that goal – there is still time to revive that deal, although perhaps the terms will now change.

Brentford have Wissa bid rejected
Brentford have had a £15million bid rejected for Nottingham Forest striker Yoane Vissa, Sky Sports News reports.
The Bees are keen to keep hold of the 27-year-old forward, who has started this season strongly, especially with the possibility that Ivan Toney, who is yet to play for Brentford this season, moves on from the club before the end of the transfer window.
Wolves are also keeping an eye on the situation as they hope to bring in further reinforcements, but it seems unlikely that any move for Vissa would be possible.

James Trafford should be signed by Newcastle in a loan-to-buy deal
England's third or fourth-choice stopper James Trafford is seen by many as an emerging international goalkeeper – and Newcastle United want to ensure he stays with them for the long haul.
The Guardian report that they have made a fresh bid for the Burnley player, having already had one turned down at £15million.
At this point a loan deal for this season and a move to buy him next summer are on the agenda, but one of the players ahead of him for England – Nick Pope – is surely the senior stopper at St James' Park.
Meanwhile, Martin Dubravka is expected to leave while new signing Odysseas Vlachodimos is also expected to go on loan when he arrives at Trafford.
