Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Saturday denied the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Claims he refused to meet. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with his delegates in New Delhi regarding the dues of West Bengal.

She said she was ready for a debate, and accused the TMC of indulging in “political theatrics”. The Union Minister challenged the TMC to take the matter to court if they felt the Center was withholding funds illegally.

In a press conference, the Union Minister said, “TMC said I ran away, but I waited for 2.5 hours. I am ready to sit and talk with them wherever they want. But they want to play drama.” And don’t want to talk.”

In response, TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee and other party members continued their sit-in outside the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata for the third consecutive day. They demanded the Governor of Bengal to meet them at the protest site and vowed to continue their demonstration until their demands are met.

Abhishek Banerjee invited Jyoti to the protest site for talks, saying that the TMC had no ego and was open to talks. He criticized the Union Minister for inviting TMC delegates to the BJP office for talks, calling it a manifestation of “landlord culture”.

The TMC is protesting against the withholding of MGNREGA funds by the Centre. The party held protests in Delhi on October 2 and 3 before starting a sit-in outside the Raj Bhavan.
