X-user Vidit Varshni shared a photo of a dead cockroach inside the food served to passengers on the Vande Bharat Express. He mentioned that the incident happened with his uncle and aunt, who had gone to Agra from Bhopal on June 18. Varshni also appealed to the authorities to take “stern action” against the shopkeeper. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) responded to his post and “apologies” for the inconvenience. He added that “adequate” penalty has been imposed on the service providers.
“Today, on 18-06-24, my uncle and aunt Vande were traveling from Bhopal to Agra on India. They found 'cockroach' in their food from IRCTC. Please take strict action against the shopkeeper and inform this. Make sure this doesn't happen again,” wrote X user Vidit Varshni, sharing a photo of food with a dead cockroach in it.

Railway Seva, the official support handle on X for train passengers, requested Varshni to share her “PNR number and mobile number” and further “regretted the experience” her aunt and uncle had to endure. lay down
Two days after the post on X, the official IRCTC handle responded. He wrote, “Sir, we apologize for your travel experience. The matter has been looked into seriously, and appropriate penalty has been imposed on the concerned service provider. We have also monitored production and logistics. has accelerated.”
