Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker welcome their first child

High School Musical Alumnus Vanessa Hudgens and her husband, professional baseball player Cole Tucker, have welcomed their first child.

“Mom, dad and baby are happy and healthy,” Hudgens wrote in an Instagram Story on Thursday.

The couple, who married last year, were spotted leaving a Santa Monica hospital in photos published by TMZ on Wednesday, with Hudgens in a wheelchair and holding the baby.

“We are disappointed that our family's privacy has been disrespected and exploited at this particular time due to the media's greed for long-lens cameras,” Hudgens wrote in her July 4 post.

Representatives for Hudgens did not immediately comment. Entertainment WeeklyRequested for comment.

The news comes four months after Hudgens gave a glimpse of her pregnancy while walking the 96th Academy Awards red carpet in April.

The photos were taken on the same day Tucker celebrated his 28th birthday. Hudgens shared a group of photos on Instagram to mark the occasion.

“Happy birthday to my piece of heaven @cotuck. You make the world a brighter place just by being you,” she wrote.

In the days leading up to their secret wedding, the two were spotted snapping beach photos with Hudgens in a white dress.
