A venomous snake was caught in a baby's bed inside an Australian home after it tried to mingle with the baby's stuffed animal.
The red-bellied black snake was found in Jambumba town on Sunday morning, June 16.
Shocking video posted online showed Bryce Lockett, who works at Snake Catchers Brisbane and Gold Coast, removing the snake.
He is seen leaning over the bed, moving a cuddly toy out of the way and picking up the snake by its tail.
“There he is,” Lockett said as the rest of the reptile's body moved around.
Lockett then lured the snake into a long closed trap on the bedroom floor, touching its tail slightly before leading it inside as the catcher walked away with the reptile.
Red-bellied black snakes are mostly seen on Australia's east coast and – although venomous – are generally shy, only striking when harassed, according to the Australian Museum.
