Video shows dozens of people vandalizing the 76 gas station on Hegenberger near San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — An Oakland gas station manager expressed anger and frustration Friday after dozens of people vandalized his business overnight — and to make matters worse, he said police didn't arrive even after he called for help.

The incident happened at Station 76 on Hegenberger Road, just off Interstate Highway 880, a short distance from the airport.

It all started around 4:30 am when the crowd attending a show going on nearby started vandalising the place.

Station manager Sam Marday believes around 80 to 100 people attended – apparently unhappy that they were not allowed inside the station and only served through the window, which was normal for that time of night.

Marde estimates the total amount of damage and theft exceeds $100,000.

We reached out to Oakland police for comment about Marde's claims of response, but have not yet received a response.

This is the latest in a series of ongoing issues on the Hegenberger Corridor.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Chevron on Wednesday. SKY7 was on scene and saw a car with a broken back window.

And yes, this is the same area where In-N-Out was shut down in March due to a rise in crime — a first for the popular chain.
