Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War was earlier going to clash at the box office with Prabhas’s Salaar.
Vivek Agnihotri also hinted that amidst the success of Jawan, Shahrukh Khan’s fans are also abusing him.
Vivek Agnihotri is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film The Vaccine War. The film, which will release in theaters on September 28, was earlier scheduled to clash with Prabhas’ much-awaited film Salaar at the box office. However, the Prabhas starrer has now been pushed to December this year and is now likely to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dinky.
In a recent interview, Vivek Agnihotri claimed that Prabhas’ fans were ‘abusing’ and ‘trolling’ him when Salaar was scheduled to release in theaters along with The Vaccine War. “The Vaccine War is a small film with no stars, made on a budget of Rs 12.5 crore. Another film Salaar was coming. Big film of Rs 300 crore. His fans were abusing me, trolling me, send him away, shouldn’t come… someone else ran away… they ran away,” he told The Indian Express.
Agnihotri further hinted that amidst the success of Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are also abusing him. Although the filmmaker did not take any names, he argued that fans of another ‘big Bollywood’ film were using his daughter’s pictures and trolling him. “I am not saying don’t look at this and look at that,” he told the news portal.
Although The Vaccine War is not clashing with Salaar at the box office, it is set to face competition from Fukrey 3, which will also release in theaters on the same day. Talking about the same, Vivek Agnihotri said, “A film has just been released, it is five-six weeks old but they are still talking about it as if no other film exists. Today all these trade journalists wrote that I have a film coming named Fukrey. I have no competition with it. It’s a comedy and a franchise. Both are different films and both should work. It is a five-day weekend and I hope Fukrey will also be a superhit and Vaccine War should also be seen.
Vaccine War talks about the struggle of Indian scientists behind the development of vaccines. Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Saptami Gowda and Pallavi Joshi are in lead roles in the film. Produced by Pallavi Joshi and I Am Buddha, the film will release on September 28 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
