Vivo has officially launched the T3 Pro 5G in India, starting price Rs 15,999. 21,999. The new smartphone promises a blend of performance and features, making it an attractive option for consumers. I've used the T3 Pro for just over a week, and I have a few thoughts.
The Vivo T3 Pro 5G comes with several notable upgrades over its previous model, the Vivo T3 5G. While the earlier model was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, the T3 Pro 5G features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. This upgrade includes a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display, a larger 5,500mAh battery, and a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Design and performance
The T3 Pro 5G features a sleek design with a leather back panel and golden accents, giving it a premium feel for a device that comes under the sub-brand.25,000. The Sandstone Orange colour variant — which Vivo sent me for this review — stands out. At just 7.49mm thick, Vivo claims it to be the thinnest curved phone in its segment, though competitors such as the Moto G85 offer a similar thickness.
The device features a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display that offers vibrant colours and great motion response. With a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, the display improves the video and game viewing experience. However, users may face accidental touches on the edges, which is a common problem with curved displays.
Display
Powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and 8GB of RAM, the Vivo T3 Pro 5G delivers smooth performance across various tasks. It is available in two storage variants: 128GB and 256GB. Running on Funtouch OS based on Android 14, the device has a sidebar for quick access to app shortcuts, which enhances multitasking capabilities.
The smartphone handles demanding tasks with ease, whether scrolling through social media, streaming videos, or playing high-graphic games like Call of Duty and Asphalt 8. A dedicated gaming mode offers additional features, such as performance monitoring and picture-in-picture mode for apps like WhatsApp, which allows seamless multitasking during gameplay.
Benchmark tests revealed impressive performance metrics, with a single-core score of 1137 on Geekbench and a multi-core score of 3066. The device also achieved a stability score of 99.1% during the 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme stress test, indicating its potential for intense gaming.
battery life
The Vivo T3 Pro 5G packs a powerful 5,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. The device can charge from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes, though it may get a little warm during the process. Notably, the battery drains slowly; playing a high-graphics game for an hour drains the battery by only 5%, and watching a video for 30 minutes has a similar effect.
Camera Performance
The camera setup on the Vivo T3 Pro 5G includes a 50-megapixel primary Sony camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. My experience with the camera has been positive – daytime photos are vibrant and true-to-life. The device also performs well in low light conditions and the Pro mode captures intricate details effectively.
However, the front camera, which has a 16-megapixel sensor, doesn't perform as well as the rear cameras, especially in edge detection during portrait mode.
conclusion
The Vivo T3 Pro 5G is an attractive option for those looking for a smartphone in the sub-series.₹ 25,000 segment. Despite a few shortcomings, such as bloatware and occasional accidental touches, the overall performance, camera quality, and battery life make the Vivo T3 Pro 5G a well-rounded daily driver.
