In the undated video, the two-time Olympic medallist was signing autographs for fans when two young women approached him to pose for pictures. Chopra agreed to pose for pictures with the two, but when he was about to leave, one of the women asked him for his phone number.

In a video that has gone viral online, he is heard asking India's star javelin thrower, “Can I have your number?” Chopra politely declined the request.

Since being posted on X, the video has been viewed over five lakh times and received hundreds of comments.

It is unclear when and where the video was filmed, although social media users speculated that it was taken after the Diamond League final in Brussels, Belgium. Neeraj Chopra finished second in the Diamond League, missing out on a second title by just 1 centimetre.

The two-time Olympic medallist on Monday took to his official social media handles to share his thoughts about the year after winning a silver medal at the tournament. He said that he failed to live up to his expectations.

“As the 2024 season comes to an end, I look back at everything I have learned – the improvements, the setbacks, the mindset and more. On Monday, I injured myself during practice and the X-ray revealed a fracture in the fourth metacarpal of my left hand. It was another painful challenge. However, with the support of my team, I was able to compete in Brussels,” Chopra wrote on X.

He said, “It was the last competition of the year and I wanted to end my season on the track. Although I failed to live up to my expectations, I feel it was a season of learning a lot. Now I am determined to return stronger, fully fit and ready for 2025. Thank you all for your support. 2024 has made me a better athlete and human being. See you in 2025. Jai Hind.”
