Statement by Malaysian Airlines
A Malaysia Airlines spokesperson says, “Malaysia Airlines Confirms that flight MH199 from Hyderabad to Kuala Lumpur on 20 June 2024 returned to Hyderabad due to an engine failure during climb after take-off.
The plane landed safely at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 3:21 am local time. All passengers and crew safely disembarked. Affected passengers will be re-routed to other flights for their onward journey. The plane is currently on the ground for further inspection. Safety is of utmost importance to Malaysia Airlines.”
