Politicians often announce that sufficient funds have been allocated to repair roads, but no improvement is seen. Potholes and bumpy roads are causing accidents, made worse by the recent rains. Residents are frustrated by the dilapidated condition of the roads, which has turned the daily commute into a nightmare. The National Highways Authority of India and local authorities should cooperate and give priority to urgent repairs to address these critical issues.

Poor maintenance of space under railway over bridges, fly overs
Encroachments and anti-social activities have increased due to poor maintenance of areas under railway flyovers and overbridges in the city. Most of the major flyovers connecting the National Highway with parts of NIT in the city are affected by illegal constructions and encroachments due to lack of supervision by concerned departments and civic authorities. In many places, garbage and waste are dumped regularly, while illegal shacks and makeshift shelters have sprung up, worsening the condition of the area. The authorities should consider and take steps to develop these places into green belts.
Prevent further encroachments.
