In May this year, WhatsApp introduced a way to lock chats using biometrics or a PIN code, but many were unhappy because there was no way to lock chats on a secondary device. However, if the latest beta feature makes it to the stable version, users will be able to keep their conversations private even on partner devices.

At the moment, WhatsApp’s new ‘Secret Code’ feature is under development, so it may take a few weeks or months for it to be available to everyone. Over the past few months, WhatsApp developers added several functionalities to the app such as Telegram-like channels, sharing pictures and videos in HD, creating groups without names, and editing media captions to name a few.
