Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed he is ready to talk to Barcelona about a potential move after Marc-Andre ter Stegen was ruled out with a knee injury.
The Poland international has emerged as Barca's top target to replace Ter Stegen, and he has now spoken to Sport about rumours of a potential move.
“I have great respect for Barca's history; it's one of the best clubs in the world. I understand the difficult situation they are in after Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury and I think it would be disrespectful for me not to consider this option,” he said.
Szczesny retired in the summer but looks set to return and help Barcelona through a tough time.
Yet it is not all that simple. It is also being widely reported that Szczesny terminated his contract with previous club Juventus a year early.
So if he comes out of retirement to play again, Juventus would have to pay a fee, meaning he would have to negotiate before moving to Catalunya.
