Wojciech Szczesny set for Barcelona medical after agreeing one-year deal

Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly heading to Barcelona for a medical check-up after he agreed to come out of retirement and join the Catalan club on a one-year contract.

The stopper has already confirmed interest from Barcelona, and it is now widely being reported that an agreement has been reached for him to join Hansi Flick’s side.

Fabrizio Romano has already described the transfer as a 'we move forward now' move and said Szczesny will undergo a medical examination in Spain this weekend.

Szczesny has been in Marbella with his family since retiring in the summer but is believed to be ready to come out of retirement and help Barcelona following Marc-Andre ter Stegen's horror injury.

The 34-year-old may need some time to get back up to speed, but he is believed to rival Inaki Pena for the No.1 spot for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign while the Germany international remains out.
