WWE NXT results, June 19: Kelani Jordan retains title; J'Von Evans becomes new NXT Championship contender

WWE NXT action made a smashing return yesterday, June 18. The company's Performance Center in Florida was the official venue for the weekly live event. The latest episode of NXT was packed with some entertaining wrestling action.

The show kicked off with a 25-man over-the-top-rope battle royal to decide the number one contender for Tric Williams' NXT Men's Title. A championship match was also on the card as Kelani Jordan defended the NXT Women's North American Championship. The main event saw Ethan Page take on J'Von Evans at ringside with Williams.

Fans hear from Oba Femi

Oba Fami addressed the WWE Universe, saying that standing in the ring was quite familiar for him, as he had retained his North American Championship again. He then added that no one can take the title away from him as he has already defeated the best superstars of NXT. This led to West Lee coming down the ramp and reminding Fami that he was never pinned at Battleground. Irritated by Lee's claims, Fami gave the challenger another title opportunity, but with a condition. Fami said that after this championship match, Lee would no longer be able to challenge for the title.

Kelani Jordan retains the NXT Women's North American Championship

The match started with some side headlocks and shoulder blocks. After some high-octane action, Mitchin tried to lock the electric chair on Jordan. However, the champion countered the move into a reverse hurricanrana. He then tried a split-legged moonsault, but Mitchin moved out of the way. As the challenger climbed the top rope, Jada Parker suddenly came and pushed Mitchin off the rope, giving Jordan the opportunity to apply a split-legged moonsault and get the win.

Ethan Page and Tric Williams clash, NXT ends in chaos

After defeating J'Von Evans in the main event of the show, Ethan Page engaged in an intense stare down with Trick Williams seated at the announcer's table. The two got in each other's faces before Shawn Spears entered the ring to attack Evans with a right hand. Williams responded by attacking Spears with his hands but Page interfered. Soon, Evans flew off the top rope and leveled Page and Spears with a double cutter. The four main men remained in the ring until the show went off the air.

Kelani Jordan vs. Mia 'Michin' Yam for the NXT North American Championship – Jordan retained his title by pinfall using a split-legged moonsault.

Carly Bright vs. Fallon Henley – Henley won the match by pinfall with the Shining Wizard.

Chase You vs Good Brothers – Hudson applied a folding press on Karl Anderson, securing the pinfall victory for Chase U.S.
