Restaurants are an easy target for those who want to take advantage of their hospitality. Recently, an X user shared a disturbing story about a middle-aged couple in Gurugram and their shocking scam to get free food. User Udit Bhandari revealed that the couple takes a dead bee with them to posh restaurants and adds it to their meals to avoid paying the bill.
Notably, Mr. Bhandari met the couple at a party at a friend's house in Gurugram. The couple reportedly told her that they frequented 5-star restaurants in Delhi and Gurugram. Halfway through the meal, they would put a fly in the food, create a ruckus and end up not paying for the food. The user added that the couple engages in the behavior “for fun” because they don't seem “tight about money.”
“Meet a middle-aged couple at a party who made some very disturbing revelations. Apparently, it's something they do for fun because they don't seem to be tight on money. He has dined at 5* restaurants in Delhi/Gurgaon on several occasions and has taken a dead bee with him! Yes, a dead bee,” he wrote on X.
“Halfway through their meal, they would quietly put it in their food and then make a big fuss over it. In an attempt to appease them, the management will either not charge for the dish or in most cases will make their entire meal free. He was proud to share his 'hack' to get free food and said he had done it many times,'' added Mr Bhandari.

Internet users were shocked by the couple's move and expressed their disgust and disbelief. One user wrote, “I'm glad I never met anyone like him. I thought that these kind of people exist only in reel life and not real. You should start filtering your circle and the people you meet.”
Another commented, “My brother used to work at McD part time a long time ago. He said many privileged people come to McD's, eat half the food and complain about ordering bread, vegetables or anything else. They will fix it by substituting another order or providing extra food as a matter of policy.”
A third said, “Disgusting, pitiful, which is stealing and cheating, shows their upbringing.” A fourth added, “It seems they are not tight on money but basic. “Citizens are narrow on sense and morality.”
