Yes Bank sacks senior executive Amit Sureka


Private sector lender Yes Bank on Tuesday removed its financial markets head Amit Sureka from the post with immediate effect. Without disclosing the reasons for Sureka's sacking, the lender said in an exchange notice that Sureka will no longer be part of the bank or its senior management with effect from August 27.

“Amit Sureka, Country Head, Financial Markets, will no longer be part of the senior management of the bank and has been relieved from the services of the bank with effect from Tuesday, August 27, 2024,” Yes Bank said in an exchange filing.

According to Sureka's LinkedIn profile, he joined the bank's financial markets division in 2005. He was promoted to the post of group president in October 2016. He was the head of treasury for the last four years. Before joining Yes Bank, Sureka worked with ICICI Bank for three years. Sureka is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
